High Plains Mental Health Center is looking for our next full time Certified Peer Specialist at the Woodhaven Location.
 
 Pay Rate: $20.98 per hour 
 
New employees will receive a $325 sign-on bonus following successful completion of their 90 day orientation period.

Qualifications:
  • Must self identify as a present or former primary consumer of mental health services;
  • Must have a BA/BS Degree OR be equivalently qualified by a combination of education and work experience in a human service field.
  • Possess demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with persons with severe and persistent mental illness
  • Must demonstrate competency in the use of technology including computers
  • Have a valid Kansas driver’s license and a good driving record (no alcohol related incidents within the last five years).
  • Must also be able to successfully pass an intensive background check.

Summary:
  • Provide services to clients through a rehabilitation and recovery focus designed to
  • Promote skills for coping with and managing psychiatric symptoms.
  • Assist consumers with identifying, effectively responding to, or avoiding triggers that result in functional impairments.
  • Assist clients through the provision of structured and scheduled activities.
  • Assist in creating a knowledge base to maintain active involvement in their treatment.
