First Care Clinic is seeking applicants for an Environmental Services Technician.
The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining the standards of cleanliness of First Care Clinic.
First Care Clinic is a very busy clinic offering medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmaceutical services. Therefore, applicants must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Prior hospital or clinic cleaning experience is preferred, but not required.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean/disinfect assigned areas and mop floors with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.
- Vacuum and spot clean carpet.
- Scour and polish sinks, toilets, showers, mirrors, and other equipment.
- Use damp, disinfectant-treated cloths and vacuum to clean windowsills, blinds, furniture, and other equipment.
- Gather and dispose of trash, wash wastebaskets when necessary, and reline with plastic bags.
- Gather and wash dirty linens.
- Assemble materials and supplies from the supply room and transport them to the work area.
- Replenish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other dispensable items.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, and the public.
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations.
- Must exhibit initiative and sound judgment in the absence of specific orders.
- Must exhibit professional demeanor by being helpful, courteous, and efficient when dealing with other employees or outside agencies.
- Ability to prioritize tasks to provide appropriate, efficient, and quality patient care.
- Ability to anticipate and react calmly in emergency situations.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with unsatisfied patients and coworkers effectively and respectfully.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Strong time management, priority setting, work delegation and work organization skills.
- Ability to follow written policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and use good judgment.
- Knowledge of standard office machines including copier, fax, multi-line phones, printers, scanners, etc.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft and Office 365 programs.
- Ability to work as a productive and effective team member, be flexible, and adapt to needs/priorities.
