The Custodial Supervisor reports to the Assistant Director of the Memorial Union. The Custodial Supervisor assists in providing custodial services, room set-up services, employee supervision and training, and coordinates with the Assistant Director in overseeing event preparations. This position will provide high customer service standards in the Memorial Union and Fischli-Wills Center for Student Success, a combined facility that serves over 530,000 patrons per year and over 5,000 reservations annually. This position works Monday through Friday 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm; however, schedule may vary due to breaks or staffing needs.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalency. A minimum of one year of custodial experience, including lead workers or supervisory experience and/or training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of principles of supervision
- Experience operating custodial equipment (high speed floor buffer, carpet extractor, floor auto scrubber)
- Knowledge of materials, equipment, and practices used in custodial operations
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Ability to organize daily, weekly, and monthly job duty tasks to ensure deadlines are met
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Basic computer skills

Responsibilities:
- Co-supervise, hire, training custodial/set-up student employees
- Supervise full-time evening custodian
- Mintor work of employees to establish daily work schedule priorities, maintain facility standards, and achieve a high level of customer service
- Review and evaluate work of employees, regularly provide feedback and direction to promote growth
- Provide custodial services in building
- Assist with setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events
- Maintain inventory of custodial supplies and acquire needed supplies for special department projects
- Assist with maintenance of custodial and general equipment as well as upkeep of the building
- Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and outside grounds
- Attend Union staff meetings, operational meetings, and division events
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs.
