A Facilities Maintenance Technician oversees general repairs and other maintenance needs for University buildings, systems, utilities, equipment, and other property. Ensures a safe and functional environment that facilitates learning. Monitors assigned areas and performs maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Is required to be on call one week a month.
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have one year experience working in a maintenance capacity. A valid state driver's license is required. Must live within 15 miles of FHSU Campus.
Preferred Qualifications: A degree from a trade school is preferred. Three years of experience in carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing or electrical.

Responsibilities:
- Main focus of this position will be carpentry, drywall, and painting.
- Learn the basics of all building trades so you can respond to emergency calls.
- Respond to emergency calls and follow repairs through to completion.
- Coordinate and prioritize work.
- Assure all scheduled maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner.
- Work with other trade skill sets to complete work orders to trade standards and customer expectations.
- Supervise student employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned
